95,000 people unemployed
Starting today 95,000 Puerto Ricans, uncluding my mother, are going to the unemployment lines due to the conflict that exist between the governor, the senators and the law makers. The governor said that there's not enough money to pay to all this people for the following two months until the new fiscal year start on July 1st. He needs a loan for $541 millions and the law makers don't want to approve it. The law makers said that the governor haven't use the money he had in a good way. The other problem they face is that they need to find a way to repay all the money to the bank. For the goverment the solution is to create a 7% sales tax. For Puerto Ricans this will be they're first time paying sales tax and most of them doesn't agree with that. While they're still arguing, starting today all public schools are going to be closed and more than 40 goverment agencies are going to be also closed. Most of these people had said that they're going to protest in front of the capitol and the governor house until they return back to their jobs. Let's see how everything ends and hope for the best.
